WWE Ready for a New Direction

Well, today has been full of news for WWE. Their ratings have been dropping and the talent want to jump ship to AEW, the new guys in town who are giving WWE a run for its money already.

Vince McMahon has been targeted as the main reason for decline. He revolutionized wrestling in the 80’s and 90’s by making it mainstream with Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and John Cena. However it’s reported that he is a control freak and out of touch with what fans want.

Today WWE announced that Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff will be named Executive Directors of Raw and Smackdown. Both are also credited with revolutionizing wrestling. Heyman as president of ECW and Bischoff who ran WCW as the rival to WWE. Both had leadership stints with WWE  after both of their companies were brought by WWE.  This time, though, it seems that Mr. McMahon realizes to save the company he needs to let go. The news broke on the WWE website.

In other news Kayfabe News are reporting that Vince  will be stepping down and is having Dixie Carter, “A TNA visionary,” will take his place. There has been no confirmation if this true. It’s important to note that neithe Vince on his social media or the WWE website has reported this.  However, if this report is true then the WWE universe will be cheering as fans wanted Vince to step down in favor of former wrestler HHH taking over.

Time will tell, but WWE took a good step with Bischoff and Heyman being the creative executives under Vince. Maybe now the brand split will be enforced. They still have a huge task. WWE has many PG audience sponsors and both Heyman and Bischoff don’t have a history in running a “PG” product. However they are both intelligent and fans will most likely have faith the product will be better.

It better because AEW is on the rise.
